DAMP & TIMBER SURVEY & TREATMENT TESTIMONIALS
The following testimonials are genuine comments made by some of our clients, who have instructed us to carry out a specialist damp & timber survey, damp-proofing or timber treatment, and used with their kind permission.
A high quality, very professional and cost competitive service from Damp Aid North Wales. We have tried many damp-proofing and timber treatment companies in the past, but Damp Aid have consistently proved to be the best at meeting our needs.
Mr J, Penrhos Road, Bangor, Gwynedd, LL57
The Damp Aid surveyors provide an efficient and reliable service, which is excellent value for money. I wouldn’t hesitate to use their remedial services again should the need arise.
Mrs S. Denbigh Road, Mold, Flintshire CH7, North Wales
I was impressed with the way that Damp Aid dealt promptly with my inquiry and followed through with a first class timber and damp survey, delivered on time, to my brief and in the format I needed. I would not hesitate to recommend their services
Mr. G. Chester Street, St. Asaph, Clwyd, LL17 N.Wales
A thorough damp and timber report that gave us all the details we needed to make a decision to purchase a property on Anglesey. We cannot recommend Dampaid North Wales specialist damp & timber surveyors enough. Excellent
Mrs G Long, Holyhead Road, Betws y Coed, Conwy, LL24
Damp Aid North Wales surveyor provided me with lots of details about the stone barn conversion I was buying on Anglesey. There were various things in their specialist damp and timber report that had not been noticed by the building society valuation surveyor. The report was very detailed and well written and I would have no reservations in recommending Damp Aid North Wales to anyone that needed a specialist pre-purchase damp and timber survey for mortgage purposes.
Mr. Edwards, Llanfaethlu, Isle of Anglesey, LL65 North Wales
I have being using Damp Aid North Wales for damp and timber surveys for a number of years. They always provide me with quick and accurate information. I find their professional and personable approach a real help. Highly recommended
North Wales Estate Agent, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL55
We were very happy with the quality of the damp and timber survey & report and the speed at which it was completed. Having all the relevant information now, we will certainly be going ahead with the purchase of the bungalow and will certainly recommend you to friends and family in the future.
Mr Borris, Penrhyn Bay, Llandudno, Conwy LL30 January 2013
Paul, the building contractors based in Llandudno, which you recommended, were excellent, on time and kept to the budget. Thank you for all your time and patience working with us to produce a dry basement apartment suitable for all the family
The Phillips Family, Llewelyn Ave, Llandudno, Conwy, LL30
Thank you for the comprehensive damp & timber decay report. Based upon the report and some other damp & woodworm issues we have decided not to proceed with the purchase of the smallholding in Llandudno. We soldier on in finding a property and would certainly favor Damp Aid North Wales for any further specialist surveys if needed
Natalie Walters, Great Ormes Rd, Llandudno, LL30 2EJ December 2012
I would like to take this opportunity to than you, Paul & Matthew for the professional way the work and communications were handled. Both Paul & Matthew were punctual and carried out the work with minimal disruption (given the circumstances). They were both polite and patiently answered any queries that we had, also offering additional advice as the work progressed. I would like to thank DampAid and would have no hesitation in using the company in the future or in recommending to others.
A Jones – Sylva Gardens South, Craig y Don, Llandudno, LL30 1EJ
We have exchanged contracts on our Victorian 3 bedroom mid terrace house. Thank you so much for all you did to make it such a smooth transaction for us – we’re beyond delighted with our new purchase in Llandudno. We will certainly recommend your company Damp Aid North Wales for specialist damp & timber decay surveys.
Dewi & Jane, Bala, Gwynedd, LL23 (soon to be Llandudno LL30)
Thank you very much for the clarification and for all your help with the damp and timber survey & report you carried out on the 2 bedroom ground floor maisonette we were buying in Llandudno. We both really appreciated the way you had written and produced the report. It gave us a lot of information about the dwelling and was very well laid out and easy to follow. We thought it was particularly good, compared to other damp-proofing & dry rot treatment companies based in the area of Llandudno that we have used in the past; at drawing attention to items of interest but making clear which you judged were of significance and which were just facts of life.
Mr & Mrs W. St. Seiriol’s Rd, Llandudno, Conwy, North Wales LL30
Thank you for your time last month. My husband and I had feared the worse and had been putting of calling somebody in for months. We are pleased we decided to pay the fee for a damp survey before accepting the free quotation that our estate agent had obtained for us before we moved in earlier in the year. Once you had explained and demonstrated why the problem wasn’t rising damp it all made perfect sense and we have now implemented your recommendations, which even with your survey fee, has saved us nearly £1,500. I’m most grateful and have already told our daughter to contact you to have a damp and timber survey & report carried out on the property that she is currently in the process of buying in Llandudno, North Wales.
M Sheen, Bodelwyddan Avenue, Colwyn Bay, LL29 9NW
Many thanks for your report received this morning and for taking the time to speak to our purchaser. It has saved our sale as they were threatening to pull out after their surveyor had found what they said was active wood boring insects in the loft of our stone cottage. Your photographs, showing that the woodworm beetle holes were not ones that require chemical treatment and weren’t active, were very helpful and thanks to your expert diagnosis the house has now been sold. When we move back to Wales we will have you carry out a damp and timber survey on our next house as we appreciate the benefit of an independent damp-proofing & timber treatment specialist.
S Kinsey, Dolwen Road, Colwyn Bay, LL29 8UU
Just a quick email to say thanks. The contractor has now been back to our converted farmhouse to install the damp proof course in the correct place, which he had refused to do prior to your specialist damp report, and my builder has carried out your specialist damp-proof plastering recommendations. I am looking forward to finally having a useable room again.
Ms Lewis, Penmaen Rd, Conwy, LL32 8HA
It was good news that we didn’t have dry rot in our kitchen especially as our insurance company said we weren’t covered. The man from the other damp company was very convincing and had quoted thousands to renew the plaster and the floor but we had a niggling suspicion which is why we decided to call in a damp and timber surveyor who is a member of the Property Care Association, and with the help of your clever flexible camera your dry surveyor managed to prove we were correct to be suspicious. We have already had a quote from a local builder based in Llandudno to install the 2 airbricks and renew the small section of floor & skirting board affected by the wet rot, as you had suggested, for £380 which is a huge relief.
Mr Griffiths, Maenan Close, Llandudno, LL30 1QA
I just wanted to thank you again for your advice about our damp problem. It has been resolved at no cost to us. I know a whole lot more about damp and drains than I did in the past. Had you not brought it to our attention it could have been extremely expensive if I had gone with the recommendations to have a damp- proof course injection as recommended by the other damp proofing company. Thank you for being so helpful.
Mr Anthony, Halkyn Road, Flint, Flintshire, CH6
We have been property developers in North Wales for many years and had used numerous specialist damp-proof & timber treatment contractors to advise us on damp and timber issues. We employed Damp Aid North Wales for a second opinion on our latest project in Llandudno North Wales. We found their informed and straightforward advice to be invaluable. We now use Damp Aid North Wales as part of our consultancy team on projects across North Wales
Mr Warren, Conway Road, Llandudno, LL30 1RN
We contacted Damp Aid North Wales to ask their advice on which type of survey would best suit our needs. They guided us through their survey options and we commissioned a full damp and timber survey & report. Their surveyor highlighted some potential problems with damp walls and wood rot in the joist ends and we subsequently addressed these with the vendor. It led to a reduction in the purchase price. Their report was worth every penny. I would not hesitate in recommending them.
Mr F James, Meliden Rd, Prestatyn, Denbighshire, LL19 18 April 2011
The service was really a cut above our past experiences of timber and damp surveys. As such, we found the survey to be very informative and the manner in which it was communicated and explained to us only served to make our understanding all the greater. This is the second time we have used Damp Aid North Wales and would have no hesitation in doing so again in the future.
Mr G. Jenkins, Whitchurch Road, Denbigh, Denbighshire, LL16
Thank you for the report. It is a huge relief for us to know that the dry rot is in fact wet rot and not as drastic (or expensive to treat) as was made out by the local builder. Thank you again for your assistance with this. I will certainly remember to get QUALIFIED advice next time I have a damp or timber problem.
Mrs Hudson, Llanfairpwllgwyngyll, Isle of Anglesey, LL61
Excellent service from start to finish. We have recommended your specialist damp proofing & timber treatment services to others and will continue to do so.
Mr. G Roberts, St Asaph Ave, Kinmel Bay, Denbighshire, LL18
We found Damp Aid North Wales to be extremely helpful and responsive throughout the process of buying our new stone cottage and selling our old bungalow and highly recommend them to anyone considering using their services.
Mr Hayward, Bryn Pydew Road, Bryn Pydew, Llandudno Juction, Conwy LL31 9QA
I would like to thank Damp Aid North Wales for the best service we have ever received during the house buying process. The service provided was excellent; nothing was too much trouble at any time, it was a tremendous support through a stressful time. The service was far in advance of anything else we’ve experienced in several house moves.
Mr Bob Parry, Caernarfon, LL55, North Wales
Just a quick note to say thanks for all of the work you put in for us. Your recommendations were spot on and in our view the most realistic. You guys came up trumps and we are really pleased to have worked with you, especially your lead technician Matt Fletcher – a great guy! Thanks for a very professional service. Best wishes for the future.
Mr Poole, Conwy, LL32
Damp Aid North Wales offered a first class, thorough and extremely comprehensive service. Impeccably courteous, quick, and able to explain and advise in a clear, concise and understandable manner, I would thoroughly recommend them as an independent specialist damp & timber company to carry out damp and timber surveys
Mrs Huw Tudor, Caernarvon Rd, Pwllheli, Gwynedd, LL53
I found the overall experience very refreshing. I contacted Damp Aid North Wales on the back of a recommendation from a colleague; I had a number of ‘bad’ experiences in the past with damp proofing contractors and was loathed to just source a name out of yellow pages! And I am extremely glad that we didn’t. I am very pleased with the service and the quality of the results.
Mrs Hooson, Llangollen Road, Cefn Mawr, Ruabon, Wrexham, LL14 3UG
Very useful and informative and a totally different environmentally friendly approach taken when compared with a local contractor, offering a free survey, who was only interested in quoting for a chemical damp proof course and replastering. Lowering the external ground level resolved my damp wall which was completely dry after a 6 month drying out period.
Mrs Williams, Church Road, Rhos on Sea, Colwyn Bay, LL28 4YS
We had two local builders who carry out damp proofing works look at our damp basement in Rhyl and both recommended different things. One quoted £1500 the other £9000. Confused and not knowing what to do next we employed Damp Aid North Wales for advice and a comparison quote. We found the surveyor to be very helpful and knowledgeable. We discovered that the two quotes had been issued by non-qualified tradesmen who were not experts in the diagnosing of damp walls. The presence of mould and the wet walls was all due to condensation caused by our tumble dryer. The machine is now vented to the outside and an additional humidistat vent has been installed and our basement is now dry.
Thank you Damp Aid North Wales for saving me a lot of money!
Pete Humphreys, Dyserth Road, Rhyl, Denbighshire, LL18
Our building society surveyor suggested that we contact a damp proofing and timber treatment specialist to visit the two bedroom ground floor flat we were buying to look at the sub-floor timbers, as the floor bounced slightly when walked upon. The DampAid surveyor went the extra mile by convincing the vendor that the floorboard had to be lifted (which the building society surveyor could not do). Upon inspection no problems were found and we were able to buy the property without any worry of costly timber treatment to the flat. No fuss, No drama, No Sales pitch, and No timber decay. Thank you DampAid North Wales
Mr. Robbie Howarth, Conway Road, Llandudno, LL30
We found Damp Aid North Wales to be very professional and knowledgeable in solving the damp and dry rot problems with our previously flooded stone built terraced property.
P Dawkins, Conway Terrace, Llanrwst, Conwy, LL26 0EY
The house we purchased in Colwyn Bay had guarantees for damp proofing and woodworm treatments however the company that had issued the guarantees had ceased to trade. We asked two damp proof specialist contractors to comment, one of the companies based in the area of Llandudno insisted that the treatments had to be carried out again so that new guarantees could be issued; the other offered to issue new guarantees for the price of the original work – £1700. We found Damp Aid North Wales through the property care association website. Damp Aid were able to establish that both treatments were working and that no further work was necessary. The also advised us to check for insurance guarantees – which there were – so the works were covered after all.
D Lewis, Penrhyn Drive, Colwyn Bay, LL28 4LD
As you suggested, we employed our builder to deal with the so called rising damp that was really no more than leaking guttering. The work to repair the guttering cost a little under a £300 and the builders calling themselves damp proofers wanted to charge £4200 for their chemical damp-proof course injection. What a con!! Thank you Damp Aid North Wales for your help.
Mr Lloyd, Ebberston Road West, Colwyn Bay, Conwy LL28 4AP
I recently engaged Damp Aid North Wales to advice on a proposed commercial property transaction in Chester, I was impressed with the speed and attention to detail that Mr Thomas brought to the whole acquisition process, particularly with issues of damp and woodworm that were raised in our initial survey. Everything was dealt with professionally and seamlessly, including recommending suitable building contractors. I will certainly be using Damp Aid North Wales for my next property transaction in Chester, and have no hesitation in recommending them to my business associates.
Mr Evans, Chester Road, Sandycroft, Deeside, CH5 2QN
